With a very first glance, it might sound rather strange but looking in o it further it's not difficult to see why the sticker trend is gaining more ground - especially across the various social media platforms.

LinkedIn, the longest-standing professional social networking site, becomes a recent convert after updating their ageing and limited messaging component to give their business users everything they've wanted. Deeper integration, better group messaging and ability to attach documents have all been added. But wait, there's more!

In addition to being able to attach photos and documents to your messages, you can also add in stickers, emojis, and gifs. Even if the sticker paradigm does not take off among the Fortune 500 set, the concept certainly is already taking off in smaller business areas. While Facebook, Twitter and all your other usual suspects are dipping their toes in the water, there are already wildly successful companies who have already made digital stickers a priority.

Currently, there are over 40,000 different digital sticker packs available across all social media platforms, from unicorns and pirates through to celebrities such as Taylor Swift and David Beckham. It's reported that app users send each other around 2 billion digital stickers a day, so it's no surprise businesses around the world are looking for a way to tap in o this market.

Although the old school method of stickers is still hugely popular, digital stickers have become the way forward for millennials and the younger generation who rely on technology more than ever before.

What will happen to both standard and digital stickers, who knows - but for now being able to sticker in real life and online is pretty cool right!
